What are your plans for the future?

Post college graduation, I plan to attend graduate school to receive an MFA in Film Production and/or a MBA in Business. One day, I would like a career working in television development for a network, studio, or streaming service while hopefully writing and producing television independently. 

What is the goal of your work?

I hope for all of my work to be a reflection of my community. I ultimately want to represent the strong African American families and women that aided in my upbringing. I want to change the damaging narratives of black women on television and ultimately fill the gap of people of color working at the executive level of the entertainment industry. 

One thing the reader should know about you?

This blog/ website has been created to showcase my current and past projects and writing pieces. I strive to get better with every piece that I create and appreciate any and all constructive criticism and opportunities to better my writing and/or production skills.

Kelsey Henderson is a junior Spelmanite who is trailblazing her own path in the entertainment industry. Raised in Atlanta, GA, Kelsey has known her passion for television since she was a little girl. She is devoted to creating safe spaces for black female filmmakers and film businesswoman by being an advocate for her peers and developing programming that spotlights black life, development, and creation. At Spelman, she is studying a degree in English, double minoring in Film Studies and Visual Culture, and Management and Organization, preparing her for a career in television development, production, and screenwriting.
